Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in finance and accounting, with specific experience in the insurance sector. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing financial strategies to optimize performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including financial modeling and analysis
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals are aligned with business objectives
- Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, CA(SA)
- At least 5 years of experience in finance within the insurance industry
- 2-3 years IFRS17 experience
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and financial reporting requirements
- Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive growth and profitability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
